Trinidad and Tobago police are searching for four missing Venezuelan women, aged between 16 and 26, while they arrested five other Venezuelans for allegedly being in the country as undocumented immigrants.
According to Trinidadian authorities, the four Venezuelans were last seen on Wednesday, July 3, and were reported missing the same day at the Woodbrook District Police Station in Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad and Tobago.
The girls were identified as Sharoll Cedeño, Daniela Rivero and Lindavua De Oliveria, aged 16 each, and Leoriannys Estanga, aged 26, all residents of Diego Martin, west of Port of Spain.
The government of Nicolás Maduro announced that the “Glorious Independence” bonus will be delivered between July 6 and 13. This subsidy is in honor of July 5, the date on which the Declaration of Independence of Venezuela is commemorated.
Authorities reported on the Bono Social de X account (formerly Twitter) that this bonus has a value of 180 bolivars, equivalent to 5 dollars, according to the rate published by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).
The amount of the Gloriosa Independencia bond would be enough to buy only 12% of the Petare basket, which is located at 1,523 bolivarswhich is equivalent to $42.
3. Five people were killed in a shooting in Kentucky, USA
A shooting early Saturday morning at a home in Florence, Kentucky, left five people dead, including the shooter, and three others injured, the city’s police department reported.
Authorities received the alert and went to a home where a 21-year-old man was celebrating his birthday with his family, according to the EFE news agency.
The 20-year-old suspect apparently knew the partygoers but had not been invited, police said.
Boone County Coroner Missy Rittinger confirmed that all four victims were adults: two women and two men.
4. Six people were reported dead due to heavy rains in India
At least six people have died in the past 24 hours in the northeastern Indian state of Assam, as heavy rains have hit the region, leaving more than 2 million people affected by floods.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) reported that with the six new deaths, the number of deaths since the last week of May, when heavy rains began, has risen to 59, reported the EFE news agency.
The rains have caused several rivers in the region to overflow their banks and cause flooding in 3,500 villages, home to more than 2.3 million people, according to the latest bulletin published on Saturday, July 6.
