During the past two days, citizens took the initiative to contact the travel agencies they deal with to book tickets abroad, in order to inquire regarding whether there have been any changes in the flight schedules following the statement of the air traffic controllers, which was issued a few days ago regarding new arrangements that will start from the 5th of next September.
Sources active in the travel agency sector revealed to“Lebanon 24” So far, there have been no amendments or changes to the flight details, indicating that all existing flights are continuing on time, and she added: “As of September 5, in the event of any new amendments to the travel schedule, then travelers will be informed of this, and from This scenario is expected to happen in light of the lack of air traffic controllers, so the traveling citizens must follow up continuously.”
A few days ago, the air traffic controllers said in a statement: “In order to ensure the safety of air traffic and the safety of passengers, we state that, starting from the date of 9/5/2023, we will adhere to shift schedules in which we will work at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport from seven in the morning until eight o’clock.” In the evening, the flights are scheduled in proportion to the capacity of the air traffic controller, which are schedules commensurate with our current number and take into account and maintain the safety of movement until the implementation of the necessary reforms in the Air Navigation Authority to restore work at the airport 24 hours a day in a safe and sound manner.
