News 24 | Youssef Al-Bunyan: Transferring technical innovations from the private sector to education

A number of royal orders were issued today (Tuesday), including the reformation of the Council of Ministers headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The amendments witnessed by the Council of Ministers included the appointment of Youssef Al-Bunyan as Minister of Public Education.

Al-Bunyan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in 1987, and a master’s degree in industrial management in 1996. He also received several specialized scientific courses in executive management.

Practical experience

Al-Benyan holds many positions, most notably the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SABIC Agro-Nutrients Company, SABIC Investment and Local Content Development Company, the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), in addition to the Petrochemical Manufacturers Committee, membership of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tadawul Group, and the Saudi Information Technology Company “SITE”. .

Al-Bunyan has a resume that is not short at the job level, as he held the position of Executive Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the company. In 2013, he assumed the position of CEO of the Chemicals Strategic Business Unit at SABIC, and in 2020 was appointed as President of the B20 Business Group of the Group of Twenty.

Al-Bunyan chaired the boards of a number of companies, including “Yanbu” for Petrochemicals, “Jubail” for Chemicals, and the Saudi Iron and Steel Company, in addition to membership in a number of boards of directors and committees, including the Board of Directors of the National Program for the Development of Industrial Clusters, and the Executive Committee of the Riyadh Economic Forum in the Chamber. Commercial and Industrial, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and the Global Advisory Council of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
