The Astronomical Society in Jeddah said that it is observing in the sky of the Arab world following sunset today, Sunday, and the transition towards the beginning of the night, the planets Venus and Saturn near each other.
The head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, explained that it will separate Venus and Saturn by only 0.4 degrees in a wonderful conjunction that is easily seen with the naked eye towards the southwestern horizon, indicating that the conjunction occurs when the planets appear close to each other in the sky.
He pointed out that due to the small apparent distance between dim Saturn and bright Venus, they can be seen together in the field of view of binoculars or a telescope, in addition to that, the crescent moon will be a few degrees below these planets.
He showed that the planets Venus and Saturn appear in the same spot in the sky and close to each other. Because they are on the same line of sight from Earth, but in fact Venus is 149 million miles away, while Saturn is regarding a billion miles away, indicating that observing Venus through a telescope will be 93% illuminated by the sun at the present time.
