The Public Transport Authority announced today (Sunday) that small cars with a distance between their axes between (2.60m) and (2.70m) are allowed to operate in passenger transport applications, provided that their operational life does not exceed 5 years from the year of manufacture, and that Until the end of 2023.
The authority also announced the extension of the permit period for cars whose axle distance exceeds (2.70 m) and whose operational life does not exceed 7 years from the year of manufacture, to work in the activity of passenger transport applications, until the end of the calendar year 2023, provided that the licensed companies add a classification Specially for small cars, clarifying the maximum number of passengers in the vehicle, and the commitment not to allow such vehicles to operate at airports and between cities.
She explained that this comes with the aim of providing more transportation options for beneficiaries, enhancing service availability and ensuring speed of response, as well as supporting drivers working in passenger transportation applications in the Kingdom.
