The Shura Council issued a decision regarding the institution of King Faisal Specialist Hospital; This was during its meeting held today (Wednesday).
The council called on the institution to work on reducing the waiting period for service in the emergency department of the hospital, and to establish a center specialized in toxicology tests; For examination of clinical and other samples.
The Council called on the Foundation to support the two branches of the hospital in Jeddah and Madinah with a modern radiotherapy center, and to coordinate with the Ministry of Education and the concerned authorities to benefit from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques program for external scholarships; To promote the localization of health jobs.
The council’s decision included a demand to work with the relevant authorities to allow the purchase and import of rare medicines and medical supplies approved by the Food and Drug Authority through the hospital platform, and to expedite the establishment and equipment of an independent children’s hospital in its main center.
In the same resolution, the council also called on the institution to review the organizational structure; In order to reach a more effective operation within the transformation of the hospital into an independent institution of a private and not-for-profit nature.
