Yesterday (Wednesday), the Ministry of Health cited the case of a citizen, whose sons had some genetic diseases, following he did not care that he did not medically match his wife.
The citizen said, during a video clip shared by the Ministry of Health through the “Live Well” account, that he had obtained a report from a hospital stating that there was no medical agreement with his fiancée before the completion of their marriage, and the hospital also warned him of the consequences of this marriage, but he decided to proceed with it, Despite the divergent opinions of the people he consulted on the matter.
He added that the marriage resulted in the birth of two daughters suffering from sickle cell anemia, in addition to a third son who carries the genetic disease, but without showing symptoms.
Commenting on the case, the Ministry of Health confirmed that the emotional compatibility between the two sides is not enough to produce healthy children, stressing the need to ensure medical compatibility between spouses to avoid infection with genetic diseases.
