The Emirate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region revealed the volume of free government services that were provided to residents of slums whose homes were removed in Jeddah Governorate, since the beginning of the removal last October until today.
She explained that the rents paid to the population amounted to 516.5 million riyals, and 99,000 services were provided, including food chains, medicine, meals, transportation of furniture, and giving milk to children.
She pointed out that 269 male and female citizens were employed, more than 23,000 people were housed, and 475 developmental housing units were handed over.
It is noteworthy that the Slums Committee in Jeddah Governorate had completed the removal work in all developed neighborhoods of the Jeddah project, according to the previously announced implementation plan and timetable, as the project aims to improve the quality of life and facilitate the access of all services to the population.
