News 24 | Observed in some villages.. Hail health fights sand fly that causes leishmaniasis

Insect control teams in Hail Health continued the foggy spray campaign aimed at controlling the sand fly that causes “Leishmaniasis” to previously infected sites and newly discovered cases.

The “Hail Health” indicated that an insect excavation was carried out in the villages of Uqla bin Jibreen and Al-Huwaidi and the villages adjacent to them, and it included two previous sites of infection and one new site.

It revealed that 100 traps were planted for several days and then examined in the vector laboratory, where 100 sand flies were observed inside those traps in two different locations.

It indicated that the insect control support teams carried out a control work by means of “foggy” vacuum spraying at the two sites during the exploration period to combat them early, and covered the two sites with a circular perimeter of up to 2 km from the exploration site.
