The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing said that failure to comply with the fencing of vacant lands following the first of next July exposes the owner to the fines and penalties mentioned in the list of municipal violations.
The ministry explained that fencing of vacant lands is mandatory, indicating that the cost of the violation is 100 riyals per linear meter, and is repeated in the event of non-compliance with the fencing.
The ministry had called on vacant land owners to quickly issue a fencing license through the “Baladi” platform, before starting to monitor the owners’ compliance in early July.
Through fencing, the Ministry aims to unify the appearance of the empty lands located in commercial streets with the surrounding buildings, reduce the accumulation of waste within those lands, protect them from encroachments, and clarify the ownership limits of the land.
