News 24 | It lasts for 10 years.. Availability of contraceptive injections for men within a year

A recent scientific study revealed a great development in contraception, but this time not for women, but for men, following a group of scientists developed a contraceptive injection for men that they can take safely without affecting their fertility.

The scientists expected, according to the British newspaper (Daily Mail), that the syringe, developed by researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology, would be ready and available on the market within a year from now.

The scientists confirmed that this “Risug” contraceptive injection may last for ten years, and it will be available within 12 months, especially following it has completed its final experiments on humans and is awaiting approval by the medical authorities.

Dr Amanda Wilson, a public health psychologist at De Montfort University, told the British Science Festival in Leicester that research found men were very reluctant to receive the shot.

She explained that for the male contraceptive pill, she still has between 30 and 50 years to go, but “Risug” is the method of contraception closest to reaching the market.

Risug is a gel that destroys the tails of individual sperm cells, preventing them from fertilizing an egg.
