Today (Saturday), the Ministry of Health launched a new service specialized in saving lives, through a line that works around the clock, consisting of a specialized team and consultants from various medical specialties in order to save the lives of patients.
The ministry explained that it provides its services at the national level to health facilities in all government and private sectors around the clock, as the services include medical guidance for health practitioners, acceptance and coordination of life-saving cases, and poison counseling for health practitioners and the community.
The “Life Saving Line” specialists receive calls by sorting them and directing them to the consulting doctor on duty according to the required specialization, in order to ensure that the best medical decision is reached in record time, in addition to following up on the progress of the transfer of accepted patients until reaching the facility they are transferred to.
The current staff includes a large number of medical specialties, which include 12 sub-specialties, sub-specialties and special tracks.
She indicated that the rate of life-saving services reaches 70,000 calls annually, while more than 18,000 cases are transferred annually to specialized hospitals.
She confirmed that the total services provided by the “Life Saving Line” amounted to 66,000 services during the year 2021 AD, while 8,192 follow-ups were recorded for the patient’s condition 24 hours following receiving the service, while the total critical consultations amounted to 32,246 consultations, of which 23,590 life-saving cases were transferred, and 8,656 A case that was treated in the same hospital.
She noted that the total toxicology consultations amounted to 34,000 consultations, including 13,000 toxicology consultations in hospitals, and more than 20 toxicology cases from the community.
