The Minister of Health, Fahd Al-Jalajil, agreed to amend the executive regulations of the health institutions system, provided that it begins to work as of the date of its publication in the Official Gazette, and all previous decisions that contradict it will be repealed.
It applies to charities and NGOs
According to the decision, this system and its executive regulations shall be applied to existing charities and NGOs, or those wishing to open private health institutions.
Amending the terms of appointment of the medical director and licensing
The decision included the addition, modification and deletion of some requirements to be met by the medical director in health institutions, the tasks of the technical supervisor, the administrative director, the conditions related to licensing medical complexes, the conditions and controls of medical laboratories, radiology departments, support health services, and license renewal.
The most prominent of what was mentioned in the regulation was the addition of the condition that the medical director in private institutions be a Saudi, while allowing the dentist to occupy the position of medical director in specialized dental hospitals, in addition to opening the patient’s file for free, and obligating institutions to publish prices electronically through their websites.
Discounts are prohibited without approval
The regulation prevented medical institutions from offering discounts in service prices or promotional offers by any means except following the approval of the Ministry. It also stipulated that the owner of the medical clinic be a Saudi doctor who specializes in the nature of its work, supervising it and is fully devoted to it, and that he be in every medical complex, radiology center, or One-day surgery center is a full-time supervisor for this purpose.
Conditions for providing maternity suites
The regulation obligated hospitals that have maternity wards to have at least two rooms that are equipped for natural birth and have privacy with midwives for the active stage of childbirth, an operating room equipped for caesarean sections, a special room for newborns, and a special room for children with stunted growth of at least 20%. of the total maternity ward beds, and that all mothers be allowed to have an accompanying child during childbirth with continuous moral and physical support.
