News 24 | Health recommends two doses of the shingles vaccine for this age group

The Ministry of Health recommended receiving two doses of the shingles vaccine, 6 months apart, for the age group 50 years and over, whether they had previously contracted the disease or not.

The ministry stated that the vaccine helps protect adults from shingles infection, as well as helps protect once morest complications from infection.

She added that the vaccine can be received for the age group of 18 years and over in the event that the person suffers from an immune or autoimmune disease or uses immunosuppressive drugs, following reviewing the attending physician to determine its suitability for the health condition.
