The Ministry of Health said that you can get magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, folic acid, and vitamin B (6) from dates.
The ministry stated that magnesium promotes nerve health, protein and bone formation, and blood sugar and pressure control, calcium for healthy bones and teeth, muscle contraction, heart and nerves, while potassium maintains normal levels of fluids within cells.
She added that dates also contain vitamin B (6), which strengthens the health of the nervous and immune systems, promotes brain development, folic acid to improve healthy cell functions and red blood cell formation, and finally iron to promote the production of hemoglobin and growth hormone.
She noted that the calories in dates vary according to the type of dates, and range between 20-80 calories per date.
