News 24 | Gulf Health: Treating burns with toothpaste is common.. and this is the correct treatment method

The Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council states that what is reported regarding the possibility of using toothpaste to treat burn injuries is just a misconception.

The council indicated that toothpaste contains chemicals that may give a feeling of coldness, but it may cause complications for burning, so it is not considered a solution for treating burns, as is the case with olive oil and butter.

He pointed out that the use of these materials may trap heat under the skin and exacerbate the complications of the burn, explaining that those who are exposed to burns should cool the burn area with lukewarm water for 20 minutes, with the use of ointments and creams to treat burns and take painkillers if needed.
