News 24 | Food and Drug Administration: This is the mechanism of action of the moisturizing drops and their side effects

The Food and Drug Authority clarified the mechanism of action of lubricating eye drops (artificial tears), their safety and side effects.

The authority noted that these drops work as a moisturizer, which is artificial tears to provide the dry eye with the required moisture, stressing the need to choose the appropriate moisturizer and consult a doctor when the dry eye persists or allergy symptoms are present.

She added that the moisturizing drops are generally safe, provided they are preserved properly and their validity is valid, noting that allergy symptoms are itching, redness, swelling of the eyes, and blurred vision.
