The Health Insurance Council started adding 18 new benefits to the health insurance policy and making improvements to 10 other benefits, most notably obesity operations, kidney transplants, and raising mental health coverage to 50,000.
The document aims at 7 main objectives, namely, the prevention of beneficiaries, health promotion, reduction of complications of disease, improvement of capacity and functions of beneficiaries, facilitating the access of the beneficiary group to the service, empowering beneficiaries, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of the service.

A number of updated benefits related to exploratory preventive examinations and vaccinations were added, focusing on women’s health, obese operations and kidney transplantation. Mental health coverage was also raised to 50,000 instead of 15,000 for acute and chronic cases, and the value of dialysis coverage and other benefits was raised.
The launch of the benefits package, the updated insurance coverage limits and the insurance drug guide, are among the steps to achieve the objectives of the council’s vision and enable the beneficiaries to obtain their full rights of care and prevention with the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
