The Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdel Fattah Mashat, reviewed some features of the ministry’s preparation for the Hajj season.

He explained, during his meeting on the “In Public” program on the “Saudi Arabia” channel, that the Kingdom raises the slogan of human health first, which necessitates the existence of requirements to maintain the health of the pilgrim during his entire journey, noting that the variation in the health level from one country to another controls the requirements. health requirements for Hajj.

Regarding monkeypox, Mashat affirmed that there is confidence in the Ministry of Health’s measures to confront this disease, and that the health requirements did not include anything related to monkeypox, noting that the Ministry of Health is taking proactive actions to deal with any case of this disease if it appears during the Hajj season.

He added that the ministry focuses on proactive and preventive matters, such as the requirement to conduct a PCR examination 72 hours before the arrival of the pilgrim, in addition to immunization and that the age of the pilgrim should not exceed 65 years, explaining that these requirements represent health protocols aimed at prevention and not waiting to deal with the disease.

With regard to the general preparations for the Hajj, he confirmed that the Arafat area was covered with an electrical energy sufficient for an entire city.

He pointed out that 20% of the Mashaar Mina camps have been fully developed, whether at the level of housing or toilets, as more than 1,000 toilet complexes have been developed.
