News 24 | Apple has no plans to release a new 27-inch iMac right now

Apple discontinued the 27-inch iMac when it launched the Mac Studio and the 5K Studio Display. And while the company told the press that the 27-inch iMac is gone. The company was rumored to have a new iMac Pro in development.

But this may not be the case. According to a new report from 9to5mac, the company is not currently planning to release an all-in-one iMac larger than 24 inches in the near future.

And if the report is correct, that means we won’t see a 27-inch model powered by the M1 processor – the recently discontinued iMac still uses Intel chips – anytime soon.

And Apple is said to have no plans for a larger iMac with the M1 Pro, M1 Max or M1 Ultra processor either. We also likely won’t see the iMac with the M2-powered MacBooks that the company is expected to release later this year.

The site states that it obtained the information from the same source that told it regarding Mac Studio Pro and Studio Display before it was revealed.

The 24-inch iMac with the M1 processor released last year is currently the only iMac you can get directly from the company’s website.

The tech giant is developing a new 24-inch computer slated for release sometime in 2023. But this device will likely remain one of the company’s relatively affordable options.

This device will also not come with its leading chipsets, similar to the 13-inch MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

Apple does not plan to release an iMac with a larger screen

Apple’s plans may change, and that doesn’t mean the company hasn’t previously considered offering different versions of the iMac.

Sources at the moment indicate that it is focusing on promoting the upcoming Mac Studio and Mac Pro to its professional users.

The company may launch new Macs with its processors in June, with more Macs coming by the end of the year. That’s according to a Bloomberg report released last month.
