The Department of Agricultural Extension at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture explained that green onions are a vegetable rich in nutrients and vitamins, useful in treating cases of cold, influenza, asthma and anemia.
The administration showed that it contains a high percentage of potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorous, vitamin A, 2B and 1B, and 5 times more vitamin C compared to what is contained in dry onions.
In an awareness publication, she pointed out that green onions are harvested regarding 60 to 70 days following planting, and it is preferable to avoid planting their seeds in the extremely hot months.
