News 24 | Al Majmaah Astronomical Observatory issues a statement regarding the conditions for sighting the crescent of the month of Shawwal

The Majmaah University Astronomical Observatory in Hotat Sudair issued a statement regarding the scientific conditions for seeing the Shawwal crescent for the current year.

The observatory explained that it will monitor the crescent of the month of Shawwal for the year 1443 AH, indicating that following completing the scientific calculations for the observatory’s website for Saturday, Ramadan 29, the calculation data indicates that the moon will set before the sun and the conjunction will occur at 11:28 pm, Saturday, Riyadh time.

He pointed out that on Sunday 30 Ramadan, the sun will set in Makkah at 6:47 and the crescent will set at 7:24, while at the astronomical observatory site, the sun will set at 6:28 at 287 degrees, and the crescent will set at 7:03 at 289 degrees, which means The crescent will set 38 minutes following the sun, with a height of 8.1 degrees and an elongation of 9 degrees.
