Over the past two days, social media pioneers circulated a clip of a man who said he had a stroke caused by walking barefoot on cold ceramics.
Professor of Carcinogen Research, Dr. Fahd Al-Khudairi, explained to:News 24What was mentioned in that section regarding the occurrence of a clot is incorrect, and there is no scientific or medical link to prove that.
He pointed out that that person may have another disease problem that coincided with his walking on ceramics, or that signs of a clot started with him before that, and then it happened that he walked, which caused an increase in complications.
Al-Khudairi indicated that walking when signs of a clot occur may cause the clot to move from one place to another and thus cause a blockage, adding that it is known that walking barefoot on cold ceramics may have a role in exacerbating the cold.
He said that walking on ceramics may have minor damages such as increased sensitivity to cold and sensitivity to the skin and feet, as well as increasing rheumatism symptoms with discomfort from cold feet, but not a clot, and there is no scientific evidence for that.
