A medical error by a dentist in a private clinic in Madinah caused a young man in his twenties to fall and swallow a nerve-pulling tool, which resulted in him undergoing surgery to extract it.
In the details, the young Moataz Bukhari revealed to “”News 24“, that he underwent an urgent endoscopic operation to extract the nerve traction tool that he swallowed and fell into the trachea and then reached the esophagus, stressing that the medical team was afraid that it would reach the intestines, which would complicate the extraction process.
Bukhari confirmed, that the doctor who treated him in the dental clinic, despite the medical error issued by him, did not cooperate with him by asking paramedics for him or trying to calm him and stand by him, noting that while he was suffering from shortness of breath, the doctor did not give him any attention and that what he asked of him Vomiting to try to remove the device.
He explained that he sought the help of his brother, who in turn transferred him to King Fahd Hospital, where he had the necessary x-rays, and then he was transferred to Uhud Hospital.
The Bukhari family formally filed a complaint with the city’s health department to hold accountable those responsible for this error, from the treating doctor to the medical complex, which did not deal with the case in a humane manner.
