A new digital experience has shown that Jeddah is the city most reactive to fake offers and tempting messages urging participants to apply for the service and share their personal information.

The city of Jeddah topped the results of the experiment conducted as part of a national anti-fraud campaign to test the public and study their behavior in responding to tempting offers with 44.2%, followed by Riyadh with 36.6%, Dammam with 9.2%, and then the cities of Madinah and Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

The experiment, which was conducted during the period from June 29 to July 16, 2022, showed that prize offers and competitions had the highest interaction rate from the public, with more than 71,000 visits.

The experiment included the cooperation of the Media and Banking Awareness Committee in Saudi banks and the Saudi Federation for Cyber ​​Security, Programming and Drones through the design and construction of 6 sites, targeting different age groups and societal interests in a way that takes into account the confidentiality of the participant, as none of the entered information is saved, and a warning message of the need to maintain data before starting the steps to complete data sharing.

Those test sites included attractive offers targeting those interested in investment and education in universities, and those interested in sites and programs for competitions, prizes, travel and tourism; With the aim of studying the behavior of a group of the public and their response to these offers, and their level of awareness in preserving their personal information.
