A spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology, Hussein Al-Qahtani, revealed the details of the fifth cold wave in the Kingdom, and the astronomical date of the end of the winter season.
Al-Qahtani said during an intervention on the “Yahla” program on the “Rotana Khaleejia” channel, that the fifth cold wave announced by the National Center of Meteorology will start its impact from today (Monday) until (next Wednesday), and the lowest recorded temperature will be 2 minus zero in the northern regions and Hail. .
He added that the cold waves that the Kingdom is witnessing mostly come from the northern countries (Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey) in the form of cold air masses and snowfall, indicating that the Kingdom’s weather cannot be compared to what those countries are witnessing from a noticeable drop in temperatures and strong snow storms.
He noted that the winter season will end astronomically on March 20, i.e. following more than 50 days, noting that the National Meteorological Center announced early weather phenomena expected for a period of 10 or 15 days, so that the concerned authorities can benefit from the information and prepare plans and programs that contribute to preserving lives and property.
