CrossFit is a discipline that has become more widespread in recent times, both at the country level and also at the regional and local level in Chillán. In the case of the capital of Ñuble, one of the promoters of competitive crossfit has been the Newen Training Center in Chillán Viejo.
The club has been holding classes and training for some time, in addition to participating in various competitions. This time it was present at a tournament in Temuco that brought together more than 200 exponents from the south of the country for two days of competition.
The Ñuble region, at the hands of the Newen Training Center, presented 8 competitors, all of whom managed to reach the finals, demonstrating a high physical level in the various categories.
In the Women’s Basic Doubles Category, Angela Cruces and Cristina Cruces managed to get into the final, while in the Men’s Basic Doubles Category, Matías Chacón and Alfonso Millar obtained second place in the competition.
In the men’s climbing duo category, Roberto San Juan and Angelo Quintana obtained second place, while in the women’s individual climbing category, Paz Clavería was awarded third place.
The center highlighted the great participation of Matías Gutiérrez who achieved first place in the highest Men’s individual category, maintaining dominance for much of the event.
“We are proud of the performance achieved by each athlete, their discipline and effort shown in each training session has paid off,” said Head Coach and trainer in charge of the competitors Gustavo Morales.
The club now plans to continue training in a good way to represent the region in future competitions and thus continue to raise awareness of local CrossFit.
