PACHUCA.- A newborn baby was abandoned inside a bag in the Hill of the Cross Located in the municipality of Tizayuca, Hidalgo, where a young man identified as Emiliano rescued him and kept him safe until he could be handed over to the authorities.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, Emiliano’s testimony states that last Friday, around seven in the evening and while he was in front of the wastewater treatment plant, heard the cry of a baby at a distance of 30 meters from where he was.
He said that in that area, residents go out to walk and exercise.
The young man explained that after hearing the crying, he decided to investigate and noticed the presence of a cloth bag of the kind given out in supermarkets. He said that inside was a newborn baby that still had the umbilical cord attached.
He Infant was found completely nakedso after covering him with his jacket, he decided to take him to his home and later went to the DIF system. However, it was closed because it was the weekend, so he kept him safe.
He later went to the public ministry file a complaintthe authorities contacted the DIF and handed the baby over to this agency. In the meantime, investigations into these events continue.
