New Zealand seeks young people to work for salaries of $400,000: how to sign up

New Zealand offers a special program so that young Argentines can travel and work for salaries of more than $400,000. To do this, they must follow certain instructions and comply with the guidelines of the program.

During 2023 the ocean country will offer 1,000 places for interested young Argentines. The application process will be carried out online. which means that it is not necessary to be in Argentina to apply.

In this sense, the Working Holiday visas are one-year (12-month) residence permits offered by different countries around the world so that people can travel and work, and can even study and continue training. The objective is to strengthen its local tourist economy, as well as widen the supply of labor, mainly for seasonal jobs.

Requirements to work in New Zealand


These are the requirements to obtain the Working Holiday visa to travel and work in New Zealand.

– Have an Argentine passport valid for at least 15 months from departure to New Zealand, that is, valid for at least 3 months following returning to the country.

– Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of applying for the visa.

– Comply with the behavioral requirements demanded by New Zealand.

– Travel without children or dependents, since the visa is individual.

– The main reason for the trip must be vacation, although it is possible to work during the 12-month duration of the permit.

– Not having previously obtained the New Zealand Working Holiday visa, not even with another passport, because this permit is issued for the only time in a lifetime.

– Pay the fee corresponding to the visa, which since July 31, 2022 has a value of 287 dollars.

– Pay the New Zealand International Visitors Conservation and Tourism Tax before you travel, at a cost of $22.

– The application process is done through the New Zealand migration site (https://www.immigration.govt.nz/).

Jobs and Salaries in New Zealand


The minimum wage in New Zealand in 2023 is NZD 21.20 (New Zealand dollars) per hour. While the working day is 40 hours a week and 20 part time.

This way, for 40 hours per week (8 per day, Monday to Friday), NZD 840 will be chargedwhich it involves a salary of NZD 3,392 per month. This means a total of u$s 2,151.56 or Argentinian $413,000 at the price of the official dollar.

By holding a New Zealand Working Holiday visa, young people they can access temporary jobs in different sectors, such as agriculture (including the harvesting of kiwis and cherry tomatoes), tourism, hotels and restaurants. Las regions that offer more job opportunities for the young are Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Marlboroug, Hawkes Bay, Nelson y Canterbury.
