New Zealand got off to a decent start. Finn Allen (28) and Young added 49 runs. But with the return of Allan, Bangladesh got the break through. The Kiwis opener returns with a catch to Nazum Ahmed off Shoriful. Dean Foxcroft (0) at third came back on the very next ball of Shoriful. Bowldaw was the star. But in the fourth wicket, Young and Nicholls added 81 runs. Young Nazum was bowled by Ahmed, who hit a straight six and 10 fours off 80 balls. The player returned but Nicholls led the Kiwis to victory with Tom Blundell (23) in partnership.
Earlier, it was Milne’s four wickets that crushed Bangladesh. With just eight runs on the scoreboard, openers Tansid Hasan (5) and Zakir Hasan (1) returned to the pavilion. Tauhid Hridoi (18) also failed to shine. Then Mushfiqur Rahim (18) and Shanto added 53 runs. But captain Lockie Ferguson gave the break through to the Kiwis by dismissing Rahim.
Mahmudullah (21), Mehdi Hasan (13), Nasum Ahmed (7), Hasan Mahmood (1) and Shoriful Islam (1) are the other players out. Khaled Ahmed (0) remained not out. Shanto scored 76 runs off 84 balls including 10 boundaries and was trapped in front of the wicket. Apart from Milne, Trent Boult and McConchie took two wickets each.
