The New York Yankees announced that Anthony Misiewicz was released from Allegheny General Hospital after spending a night under medical evaluation after being hit in the face by a pitch during a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The left-handed pitcher was placed on the seven-day disabled list with concussions. To fill his place, the Yankees recalled right-hander Ian Hamilton from the 15-day disabled list.
Aaron Boone, manager of the New York team, visited the pitcher in the hospital and said that Misiewicz still has a medical visit to make tomorrow before the team returns to New York.
“He was in a good mood,” Boone said. MLB.com. “She looked and sounded pretty good. “He definitely has some symptoms today, but I think all things considered, he’s doing pretty well.”
