New York Stock Exchange opens on mixed terms

NEW YORK, New York.- The day on Wall Street opened this Friday in mixed terrain, when the Dow Jones Industrial Averageits main indicator, rose by light 0.02 %and the remarkable profits of the Nvidia technology deflated.

Twenty minutes following the opening of the New York Stock Exchangehe Dow Jones Industrial Average was located at 39,143 points; the selective S&P 500 fell 0.35% to 5,453 units, and the technological Nasdaq fell 0.51% to 17,632 points.

What is affecting the markets today?

In recent days, the major indices have been boosted by the rise in Nvidiawhich became the most valuable company on the market on Tuesday, although it has already been surpassed by Microsoft.

On Thursday, the chipmaker’s shares hit an all-time high, but fell off at the close and ended down 3%. This morning, the company was also down 3%.

However, Nvidia is up more than 150% on Wall Street so far this year.

By sectors

The gains in the essential goods sector (0.57%) and the losses in the technology sector (-1.08%) and financial sectors (-0.59%) stood out.

Among the 30 Dow Jones stocks, gains were led by McDonald’s (2.38%) and Cisco (1.35%), and the biggest losses were for JPMorgan (-1.91%) and Travelers (-1.19%).

Meanwhile, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond fell to 4.248%.

In other markets, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil opened Friday with a rise of 0.06%, to $81.34 a barrel, following it was announced that gasoline demand has risen significantly, reaching its highest level since the pandemic.
