A man identified as Kemoy Royal could face a sentence of 34 years or life in prison for a series of sexual attacks on women in New York City in June 2022.
According to Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark, Royal was caught after his latest victim used a food delivery app to include a message asking for help, the Daily News reported.
According to prosecutors, the defendant raped two women and sexually assaulted a third at his home in Eastchester. The assaults against the latter lasted for six days, after he convinced her to come visit him.
The first case occurred on June 13, 2022, when Royal allegedly met a 27-year-old woman in person, after communicating for a few days through a dating app.

When they met, he forced her to perform sexual acts, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.
He then convinced her to visit his apartment and when she entered, he refused to let her leave and threatened to kill her.
He then attempted to force her to perform sexual acts, bit her on the breast and strangled her before releasing her six hours later.
Later, on June 18, Royal met up with another woman, aged 24, whom he met on a dating app.
New York police arrested the accused
When she arrived at his apartment, he strangled and raped her, while threatening her with a knife, after taking her phone. He held her in his apartment and threatened to kill her, prosecutors said.
The next morning, the woman, desperate to escape, told Royal she wanted to eat and placed an order through a food delivery app; but in her order, she added a message to call the police.
The restaurant noticed and alerted authorities, who rushed to Royal’s apartment.

The woman was released and New York authorities arrested the suspect.
Bronx Supreme Court Judge Jeffrey Zimmerman sentenced Royal on Friday on multiple counts of rape, criminal sexual act and predatory sexual assault.
Once he has served his lengthy prison sentence, he will have to register under the Sex Offenders Registration Act.
