New York – According to a report by the “New York Times” Works by the Austrian painter Egon Schiele were restituted on Wednesday. They were originally in the collection of the cabaret artist Fritz Grünbaum, who was murdered in the Dachau concentration camp in 1941. US museums and two private collections have now voluntarily returned a total of seven works to his heirs, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Morgan Library & Museum, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art as well as the collector Ronald S. Lauder and the estate of Serge Sabarsk .
