The New York Mets decided to end their history with the Venezuelan Eduardo Escobar. The Metropolitan team included the Creole player in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for two young prospects in a surprising move for many, but one that might benefit everyone.

Escobar wore the colors of the Mets for almost a season and a half… Although he had positive moments in his first season, the truth is that the start of this second season with the Metropolitan team did not live up to what was expected by part of the experienced player.

Hours following the change was confirmed, “El de La Pica” wrote a message on his Twitter account to say goodbye and thank the Mets for everything he experienced during his time in New York: “Thanks to the Mets organization, thanks to the coaches, my teammates and especially the fans, an honor to play for the Mets, always with a lot of love, passion and above all respect, it’s a sad day, but in the end, God is always in control of everything, I feel proud of what I do.

Now Escobar will have to work to earn a place in some Angels who in theory have less demands than his previous team, but who are going through their best moment in a long time. The infielder will undoubtedly have options due to his versatility and might make a good key with his compatriot Luis Rengifo.
