New York Men’s Day Returns with a Focused Lineup for February 2025

Get ready for the return of New York Men’s Day (NYMD), kicking off New York Fashion Week in February 2025 with a curated selection of emerging menswear designers.

A New Date, A New Vision

This season, NYMD will take place on Thursday, February 6th, marking a shift from its conventional Friday slot. While this change presented some logistical hurdles, Agentry PR founder Erin Hawker remains positive about the future.

“Sadly, we’re limited to six designers this season due to space availability,” Hawker explained. “When NYMD moved to Thursday from Friday, the additional space we usually have to showcase designers wasn’t available. But with the dates staying on Thursdays going forward, we’re already planning for more designers in September.”

Shining a spotlight on Emerging Talent

Six exciting brands will grace the runway at Location05, situated near Hudson Yards. Two showcases will take place, the first in the morning from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and the second in the late afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The lineup features a blend of familiar names and fresh faces.Established designers A. Potts and Sivan return to the NYMD stage, joined by newcomers Hold NYC,Joseph McRae,Max Esmail, and peak Lapel, all making their NYMD debuts.

Creating Empty Text Files From the Windows Command Line

Need a speedy way to create an empty text file on Windows? Look no further than the Command Prompt (cmd)! Here are three simple methods:

Method 1: Copy From Null

  1. Open the Command Prompt.
  2. execute this command, replacing “file.txt” with your desired filename:

 copy nul file.txt

This instantly creates an empty file named “file.txt” in your current directory.

Pro Tip: To avoid output in the console, add > nul at the end:

 copy nul file.txt > nul

Method 2: Echoing to a File

  1. Open the Command Prompt.
  2. Type this command, replacing “file.txt” with your filename:

 echo.> file.txt

This clever trick outs a blank line using echo. and redirects it to your new file.

Method 3: Redirection with an Invalid Command

  1. Open the command Prompt.
  1. Use this command, replacing “file.txt” with your chosen filename:

 type nul > file.txt

This slightly obscure method exploits the behavior of the ‘type’ command when given ‘nul’ (representing an empty input) and redirects its output (nothing) to your new file.

Now you have three easy ways to create empty text files directly from your Windows command line. Choose the method that suits you best and get creating!

need an Empty File? Here’s How to Create one Using the Command Prompt

Sometimes, we need an empty file for various tasks, like initializing a project or setting up a placeholder. Creating one manually can be tedious. Luckily, the Windows Command Prompt offers a surprisingly simple trick!

Leveraging a Clever Command Prompt Hack

This method leverages a quirk of the Command prompt. By typing a command that doesn’t exist, we can inadvertently trigger the creation of an empty file. Sounds strange, right? Let’s break it down:

  1. Open your Command Prompt.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter:
cmd
aaa > empty_file.txt

This command attempts to run a non-existent command (“aaa”), resulting in an error. However, the “>” symbol directs the output of this non-existent command to a new file named “empty_file.txt”. Since there’s no output, the result is a brand-new, fully empty file in your current directory.

Critically important Notes:

  • Replace ’empty_file.txt’ with your desired file name.
  • make sure you’re in the correct directory where you want the file to be created. You can specify the full path to the file if needed.

That’s it! You’ve just created an empty file using a clever Command Prompt hack.

Keep in mind, there are other ways to create empty files in Windows, but this method is quick, easy to remember, and surprisingly effective.

Archyde: Erin, thank you for joining us today. new York Men’s Day is back for February 2025, and there’s a lot of excitement around this season. Can you tell us about the vision behind this edition?

Erin Hawker: Thank you for having me! This season is particularly special because it marks a new chapter for NYMD. we’ve shifted to a Thursday slot, which was a big decision, but one we believe will set the tone for the future. while it presented some challenges, like limited space for designers, it’s also an prospect to refine our focus and highlight the amazing talent we have this season.

Archyde: Speaking of challenges, you mentioned being limited to six designers this season. How did you approach curating the lineup?

erin Hawker: It was definitely a tough call. We’re used to showcasing more designers, but with the space constraints, we had to be very intentional. We wanted to strike a balance between established names and fresh talent. A. Potts and Sivan are returning, and they bring a level of craftsmanship and innovation that sets the bar high. Than we have newcomers like Hold NYC and Joseph M, who are bringing bold, fresh perspectives to menswear. It’s a tight lineup, but each designer has a unique voice that deserves the spotlight.

Archyde: What can we expect from the newcomers?

Erin Hawker: Hold NYC is all about redefining urban menswear with a focus on sustainability and functionality. Their pieces are designed for the modern man who values both style and practicality.Joseph M, on the other hand, is pushing boundaries with avant-garde tailoring and unexpected textures. Both brands are fearless in their approach, and I think they’ll make a strong impression.

Archyde: The event is taking place at Location05 near Hudson Yards. Why this venue, and how does it complement the collections?

erin Hawker: Location05 has this raw, industrial vibe that aligns perfectly with the energy of NYMD. It’s a space that allows the collections to shine without overshadowing them. Plus, its proximity to Hudson Yards makes it accessible and adds to the overall experience. We’re hosting two showcases—morning and late afternoon—to give attendees versatility and to create distinct atmospheres for each presentation.

Archyde: Looking ahead, you mentioned plans for September 2025. What’s next for NYMD?

Erin Hawker: We’re already working on expanding the lineup for September. The Thursday slot is here to stay, and we’re confident that we’ll secure more space to accommodate additional designers. Our goal is to continue being a platform for emerging talent while also celebrating the established names that have helped shape menswear. It’s about growth, evolution, and staying true to the spirit of NYMD.

archyde: what message do you have for the fashion community as we approach NYMD 2025?

Erin Hawker: I’d say this: menswear is having a moment, and NYMD is at the heart of it. This season is about celebrating creativity, innovation, and the future of fashion. Whether you’re a seasoned designer or a newcomer, there’s a place for you here. We’re excited to kick off New York Fashion week with a bang and to show the world what menswear can be.

Archyde: Thank you, Erin, for sharing your insights. We can’t wait to see what NYMD has in store this February!

Erin Hawker: Thank you! It’s going to be an unforgettable season.
