What to know regarding the increase in the City Pass
- The first tourist pass in New York, the New York City Pass allows you to visit 5 must-see places in New York for a price much lower than the total of the 5 visits at the normal price. Among the visits included: the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Top of the Rock Observatory or the Museum of September 11, 2001.
- Each year, on March 1st, the City Pass adjusts its price according to increases in the prices of the attractions it includes. The sharp rise in inflation in recent months in the United States will therefore lead to an increase in the pass of around €9.
- Passes purchased from March 1, 2023 will therefore be more expensive but they will include “a new program of attractions offering greater flexibility of choice”. No more details for the moment but there will therefore also be changes in the list of attractions. We already know that the City Passes purchased from March 1, 2023 will notably include a temporary exhibition or a film at the Natural History Museum, in addition to admission to the museum.
How to avoid the increase in the New York City Pass?
- If the visits currently included in the City Pass are suitable for you and you do not wish to pay the new price and benefit from the new options, it is entirely possible to avoid the increase.
- To do this, you must purchase your City Pass before March 1, 2023 and ensure you have selected February 28, 2023 as your travel date. This date really doesn’t matter because you’ll be able to use your New York City Passes for one year from the date of purchase. ????
