New York City, current MLS champion, announced on Monday the transfer of Argentine striker Valentín ‘Taty’ Castellanos to Girona until 2023.
Castellanos, born in Mendoza in 1998, will stay at Girona until June 30, 2023 and leaves New York City following four seasons in MLS.
The Argentine striker had 13 goals this season in the US league, and shared first place in the table of top scorers with his compatriot Sebastián Driussi.

‘Taty’ won the MLS Golden Boot last year, when he scored 19 goals in the regular season and three in the ‘playoffs’, en route to the title.
“I came to New York four years ago and this experience was everything I wanted. I grew up here and took my game to another level. I always said that the people at this club are like my family,” Castellanos said in statements provided by New York. City in a statement.
“I am very proud to have won the Golden Boot last year and to have won the first MLS for our fans,” he added.
Castellanos closes his time at City with 53 goals and 19 assists in 116 MLS games.
He is also the second player in the club capable of scoring more than fifty goals and the only one to achieve a poker goal, in his team’s 6-0 once morest Real Salt Lake.
