“New York Abu Dhabi” presents the premiere of “32 Voices”

The Arts Center at New York University Abu Dhabi reopens its doors to the public for the Middle East premiere of “32 Voices,” a live documentary filmed by film director Sam Green, with live music by J.D. Samson, on March 9 and 10 at the Red Theatre.

The film is an immersive and interactive experience that explores the fundamental elements of the sound phenomenon. The center plans to screen the film, which was chosen to open the Sundance Film Festivals and “South by Southwest”, in the live cinema hall of the Red Theatre, providing a live narration with the voice of Sam Green and live original music by J.D. Samson.

The live documentary, directed by Sam Green, serves as a platform that connects filmmaking and artistic performance and removes challenges related to these two artistic styles, while celebrating the collective personal experience. This unique experience includes introducing headphones to all viewers to experience the amazing audio mix and bring a new interactive dimension to the live documentary.

Commenting on the topic, Bill Bragin, Executive Artistic Director of the Arts Center at NYUAD, said: “Sam Greene’s creativity lies in creating documentaries that are creative and approach the audience and that reflect his curiosity, awareness, passion and a distinctive sense of humor. I have always been drawn to works that carry many messages and bear more than one interpretation, so we are pleased to welcome the audience at the Red Theater to enjoy watching this masterpiece of multi-meaning art.”

For his part, director Sam Green said: “I am delighted to return to NYU Abu Dhabi following the great success of my previous direct film, A Thousand Ideas, which was shown in cooperation with the Kronos Quartet in 2019 at the Artistic Performance Center, and added the wonderful theater and distinctive interaction. The audience will have an exceptional impression on the show held in the UAE capital. The educational workshops we held also helped me to have an exceptional experience with the participating students, thanks to the diverse and passionate student body, with many of whom I formed wonderful friendships that continue to this day. It is an honor for me to collaborate once more with Bill Bragan, who is one of the most distinguished personalities in the world of performing arts.”
