A deployment of 800 National Police officers, 200 more than last year and in a context of reinforced level 4 terrorist alert, has ensured security during the celebrations on the stage of the capital.

Valenciafor its part, welcomed 2024 with the simultaneous firing of four fireworks displays, for which two tons of gunpowder were used and which lasted regarding eight minutes.

The celebrations have taken place in all Spanish cities, including Barcelona, where 2023 has been bid farewell with a pyrotechnics and drones party on Avenida de la Reina María Cristina. Almost half a thousand illuminated drones have filled the sky of Montjuïc at 250 meters above sea level.

At midnight, the drones have drawn the grapes in the sky. After the quarters, 12 pyrotechnic hits marked the 12 bells. Due to the drought, however, the Font Màgica de Montjuïc has not been able to take part in the show.
