A Pontiac man has opted out of trial for a drug charge in West Virginia, entering a plea in federal court on Jan. 8.

As reported by the Department of Justice, Larry Williams, 52, admitted to selling methamphetamine and heroin to a confidential informant in February 2023, in Huntington, West Virginia. He also admitted to selling the drugs to a confidential informant in January and March of the same year, in the same city.

A search of Williams’ residence in Huntington last March by police, armed with a warrant, turned up approximately 134 grams of methamphetamine, 15 grams of heroin, six grams of fentanyl and 18 grams of crack cocaine, according to the DOJ. Digital scales, a drug cash and approximately $300 were also located in the search, the DOJ stated.

Williams admitted to possessing the drugs and his intent to distribute them, the DOJ stated.

Sentencing is scheduled for April. Williams faces up to 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release and a fine of $1 million.

Huntington, located along the Ohio River, is West Virginia’s second most populous city.
