Referring to the results of the additional monthly payment for education workers in Cuba, sources from the MINED assured that there are new proposals for 2025.
In the last few hours, the Ministries of Higher Education and Education informed the deputies of the National Assembly regarding the implementation of resolutions 22 and 23 of 2023.
Deputy ministers from both sectors assured that both provisions have benefited Cuban educators for the years of service provided.
“The legal norm was published on December 22 and all efforts were made to ensure that the years of service might be paid in the January payment, which is made in the first days of February. Therefore, the work was intense,” said Dr. Alicia Alonso Becerra.
New wage measures in 2025?
For her part, Cira Piñero Alonso, First Deputy Minister of the MINED, stated that the plan of measures not only covers the implementation of this resolution with the salary increases for these concepts, but also includes another important group of measures.
These provisions include attention, stimulation and the entire program of care that must be given to teachers in the territory.
In this scenario, the Cuban leader announced that “there is a group of measures proposed for 2025, which we are also in the process of reviewing to see what conditions the country is in to be able to approve them.” However, she did not offer further details in this regard.
In general terms, they detailed the main benefits of implementing Resolution 22/23 on the additional monthly payment for years of service rendered.
Additional monthly payment for education workers in Cuba
- Reinstatement of payment for years of service, eliminated as of the ordering task (Resolution 29/2020 of the MTSS, repealed this additional payment).
- Rates higher than those applied until 2020.
- For the first time, the following are included in the payment for years of service:
- Researchers of the higher education system.
- Non-teaching staff.
- Recognition of all years of service to workers who have held teaching and non-teaching positions without distinction.
