CONTEXT

Luke Ross and his AAA mods

Luke Ross is known for his REAL VR mods that make major titles like GTA 5, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Horizon Zero Dawn, various Far Cry installments, Hogwarts Legacy, both Marvel’s Spider-Man, Uncharted 4, Watch Dogs, Ghost of Thushima and many more playable with PC VR headsets.

In an interview with MIXED, Ross expressed the view that the VR market must first develop along familiar gaming paradigms. For him, that means gamepad VR. He described the introduction of VR controllers as a fatal mistake for the industry, as developers had to adapt to completely new forms of interaction, which would have deterred many studios from jumping on the VR bandwagon.

His VR mods were not well received by everyone. Take-Two forced him to remove all VR mods for the publisher’s games. The measure affected the popular VR mods for GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Mafia Definitive Edition.
