OpenAI has introduced a new, improved and faster version of ChatGPT that non-subscribers can also use.
According to the news agency AFP, the unveiling of this model took place at a time when its rival company Google is going to introduce its latest artificial intelligence technology at its annual conference.
The new model of ChatGPT is named ‘ChatGPT 4O’, the new version also includes an artificial intelligence chatbot in ChatGPT.
“We are very excited to introduce ‘ChatGPT4O’ to all our free users,” Chief Technology Officer Meera Murthy said at the launch event in San Francisco.
During the launch event, Chief Technology Officer Meera Murthy and engineers from OpenAI asked questions and demonstrated ‘GPT4O’ during a virtual event.
During the live demo of ‘GPT4O’ he suggested easy ways to solve math questions instead of solving them.
He also analyzed some computer codes, translated from Italian to English and inferred the emotions of a smiling person from a selfie.
This version of ChatGPT is faster than the previous version and this chatbot also includes a talking voice.
The new version can not only read the captions of the photos and discuss them, but can also translate different languages and infer emotions from the facial expressions of the photos. It also introduces a memory feature. So that it can also remember the answers given earlier.

**Interview with Meera Murthy, Chief Technology Officer at OpenAI**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us, Meera. Exciting times ahead with the launch of ChatGPT 4O. What are the key advancements over the previous model that you believe will resonate most with users?
**Meera Murthy:** Absolutely, we are thrilled about ChatGPT 4O. The improvements primarily include speed and versatility. It’s designed to make tasks not only faster but also smarter, allowing users to benefit from a chatbot that can now analyze code, understand context from images, and even interpret emotions.
**Editor:** Fascinating! You mentioned the ability to infer emotions from photos. How do you envision this feature being used in real-world applications?
**Meera Murthy:** This feature can enhance customer service interactions, improve mental health monitoring, and even be used in creative fields like storytelling and marketing to understand audience reactions better. The potential is significant.
**Editor:** With ChatGPT 4O accessible to non-subscribers, what do you see as the implications for competition in the AI space, especially with rivals like Google gearing up to launch their technologies?
**Meera Murthy:** Making ChatGPT 4O available for free users democratizes access to advanced AI. It encourages innovation and allows a broader user base to experiment and provide feedback, which is vital for growth.
**Editor:** As users start to explore these new features, do you anticipate any ethical concerns regarding privacy, especially with the memory feature and emotion analysis?
**Meera Murthy:** That’s a critical point. We’ve built our systems with user privacy in mind, ensuring that all features, particularly those involving sensitive data like emotions, are used responsibly. Transparency and control will be key.
**Editor:** Shifting focus, how do you believe ChatGPT 4O will impact the way we interact with technology going forward?
**Meera Murthy:** I believe it will create more natural interactions between humans and AI. The advancements will help bridge the gap between human thought processes and machine understanding, paving the way for more intuitive technology.
**Editor:** Before we wrap up, I’d like to spark a debate among our readers: With these advancements and the inclusion of memory features, are we redefining the boundaries of AI’s role in our daily lives? Could this lead to dependency on AI for emotional and cognitive tasks? What do you think?
**Meera Murthy:** That’s a great question and a discussion worth having! As we integrate AI deeper into our lives, we must balance benefits with the potential risks, always keeping users informed and empowered.
