The automotive industry does not has had a good year in relation to new vehicle sales in the country. According to data from Andemos, it is evident that enrollments in the country fell 30% in the month of May and 24% in the accumulated of the year in relation to the same periods of 2022.
Therefore, before this crisis facing the industry, several players in the sector have planned different launches of new vehicles to rebound and face it. In LR, the main brands were consulted and we found that there are a total of 16 scheduled so far, with KIA and Hyundai leading by number of announcements.
Renault
some of these examples is the French company Renault, which plans to launch, in the second semester, the Renault Kwid E-Tech, Renault Megane E-Tech, Renault Master E-Tech and the Renault Kangoo E-Tech. The president and CEO of the brand, Ariel Montenegro, highlighted that all the announced vehicles will be 100% electric, to contribute to the sustainable development of the organization in Colombia.

Jessica Rossini dos Passos, commercial manager of Hyundai Colombia, revealed that the company will launch cars like the Creta, Palisade, Ioniq 5 and new versions of Kona HEV and EV. The latter will also go on the market with new versions of the hybrid and fully electric models.
As for the brand strategies to maneuver in the crisis, Rossini dos Passos said that “we have allied with the dealer network and an emphasis on following-sales, offering comprehensive coverage, reliable maintenance and an extended seven-year warranty”.
Chevrolet
Juan Alberto Yokens, marketing manager, highlighted that the organization recently announced the pre-sale of the new Chevrolet Montana 2024.
Additionally, dHe said that the company will implement a new technology to reach the Euro VI emission level in its bus line and trucks, to reduce polluting emissions. Yokens stressed that to face the crisis in the sector the company has been “innovating in our plans, adding value in each segment and giving offers”.

Andres Plata, commercial and product manager of Kia, stressed that the organization plans to launch the fourth generation of Sorento, in addition to the Seltos from Korea, Carnival, EV6 and EV9 which are fully electric trucks. The arrival of these vehicles is scheduled between the months of June and September.
Suzuki
Juan David Uribe, manager of Suzuki, mentioned that the organization plans to launch the new Grand Vitara with a hybrid engine. In addition, the company will bet on the market with the SUV to “double our commitment to hybrid technology to advance the energy transition.”
Citroën
Daniel Ignacio Herrera Escobar, manager of Automobiles Citroën, said that the company will launch the new generation Citroën C3 Aircross SUV later this year.
Mini
Santiago Huertas, Marketing coordinator of Mini-Autogermana, explained that the company plans to launch the Mini Clubman. This model will arrive in the country between the months of October and December, with a limitation of 1,969 units.
