Faced with the resurgence of monkeypox cases in the Paris region, the Ile-de-France regional health agency will open nine new vaccination sites in Parisian hospitals. They should be operational by July 11.
Monkeypox continues to advance in the territory. The Public Health France health agency recently published the latest assessment of the disease which reports, as of June 30, 498 confirmed cases. Nearly 336 of them were located in Île-de-France. To cope with this upsurge
, the regional health agency (ARS) announced this Tuesday, July 05, the next progressive opening of nine vaccination sites. This care will take place within the confines of hospitals.
In Paris itself, it will now be possible to get vaccinated in the following hospitals: Bichat, Pitié-Salpêtrière, Hôtel-Dieu, Saint-Antoine, Saint-Louis and Lariboisière. Three other hospitals in the region will also welcome patients, namely: Raymond-Poincaré in Hauts-de-Seine, Avicenne in Seine-Saint-Denis and Kremlin-Bicêtre in Val-de-Marne. Patients should be able to be received by July 11.
A post-exposure vaccine
As a reminder, the High Authority for Health recently recommended vaccinating only adults who have had risky contact with a patient, as well as exposed health professionals: “ The vaccine should ideally be administered within 4 days following the date of the last risky contact and a maximum of 14 days later. “, also indicates the ARS on its website.
