New update for ‘Galaxy S6’ series 7 years after release.. Fix GPS bug?

Samsung Electronics is providing new updates to the Galaxy S6 series, which has been 7 years since its release.

According to the Dutch media Galaxy Club, Samsung is providing the latest updates to ▲Galaxy S6 ▲Galaxy S6 Edge ▲Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (+) models.

In the Netherlands, the G928FXXU5CVG3 firmware is provided for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and the G920FXXU6EVG1 and G925FXXU6EVG3 firmware are provided for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge models released by Vodafone, respectively.

Samsung Electronics said that performance improvements and bug fixes were made in this update, but foreign media reported that it is highly likely that the update included the location information system (GPS).

Samsung has been offering updates since last month to fix GPS issues on older devices. The Galaxy S7 series and Galaxy S8 series released in 2016 and 2017 all received updates that fixed the GPS bug in August.
