New TWS in-ear headphones unveiled

With LHDC codec and open seat?

At Nothing, the next product seems to be in the starting blocks. With the Ear (stick), new TWS in-ear headphones follow, which are intended to expand the portfolio around the phone (1). In line with this, the company’s own in-ears are now better integrated into the system thanks to a new software update.

Already on the Launch-Event des Nothing Phone (1) there were first indications of new in-ear headphones. The hype surrounding the smartphone was probably so great that Amazon accidentally offered a bundle with the Ear (stick), which was unknown at the time. But now Nothing has officially announced the fresh TWS in-ears and revealed them in a fashion show. The only question is: What do they offer compared to the Nothing Ear (1) and how much will they cost?

First of all has Nothing dem Phone (1) a new software update with version 1.1.4. This not only fixes some bugs and improves stability, but also makes fine adjustments. the Ear (1) are now better integrated into the system and, for example, in the form of a larger widgets displayed in the expanded notification bar. There you can see the battery level and make sound and ANC settings.

However, it is a little more exciting Support for LHDC, an audio codec for high sound quality and low latency. In line with this, Nothing could now have fresh in-ear headphones including LHDC in their luggage with the Ear (stick). However, it is unclear whether the new “sticks” have the codec on board – because nothing has shared any details about the in-ears so far.

Fresh design with IP54 certification

The photos show a slightly different design. The charging case, meanwhile, comes in one oblong shape therefore, however, features again with a transparent look. A red accent can be seen at one end. However, due to the new format, wireless charging should no longer be on board.

According to the details leaked by Amazon at the time, the Nothing Ear (stick) should have a IP54-Rating and connect to the music source via Bluetooth 5.2. The battery life is said to be up to 7 hours with the charging case up to 30 hours in total to be possible. In addition, there is talk of a “Half In-Ear” design, which probably indicates a somewhat loose fit – probably without rubberized attachments.

In terms of price, the new Nothing-In-Ears should start for 99 euros, just like them Ear (1) back then. The latter, however, are always on offer and so partially for only 74.99 euros. In our test the Nothing Ear (1) scored particularly well with their comfortable fit, solid sound and eye-catching design.
