The Cubatur tourism agency and its Transtur buses reported this week on new routes between western and central Cuba, with emphasis on the beautiful town of Trinidad, in Sancti Spíritus. What are the new travel options?
From this entity they promote the discovery of two routes, although they do not mention the prices or the type of currency. One is the Havana-Trinidad Express. With daily departures from Havana at 7:00 am. Return from Trinidad at 1:00 pm. Other sections available within the route are Havana-Cienfuegos and Cienfuegos-Trinidad.
Another novelty is the Varadero-Trinidad Express. Operates Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Departure from Varadero at 7:00 am. Return from Trinidad at 3:00 pm. You can choose these sections: Varadero-Santa Clara, Varadero-Cienfuegos, Varadero-Trinidad, Santa Clara-Cienfuegos, Santa Clara-Trinidad and Cienfuegos-Trinidad.

More options to explore Cuba with Transtur
Transtur also promoted other routes to explore Cuba, such as the Viñales Express and the Santiago-Havana Express. The latter has stops and pick-ups for clients at the Meliá Santiago de Cuba, Pernik Holguín, Hotel Camagüey and Hotel Ciego de Ávila hotels, from its departure from the eastern city to the Cuban capital. It is open to both foreign and national tourists.
According to information from 2023, the so-called “Santiago-Havana Express” left the eastern city on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, always at 7:00 am, returning on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays with the same stops. The price was 8,700 Cuban pesos per person and included a lunch on the way with “starter, main course, salad, side dish, dessert and coffee.”
