New bombardments hit the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, on Sunday. On Telegram, the governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, indicated that three members of the same family had been injured during a bombardment on Belgorod, the capital of the eponymous region. Two of the injured, hit by shrapnel, were taken to hospital.
According to this source, houses and cars suffered “minor damage”. The fourth injured is an elderly man who suffered a “bruise” during a bombardment near Belgorod, according to the governor.
In a statement, the Russian Investigative Committee said that “nearly 16 explosions” were heard on Sunday in this city of 330,000 inhabitants which, since the start of the offensive in Ukraine, had rarely been hit by shots. But this week, the local authorities have repeatedly denounced strikes by the Ukrainian army on the city or nearby areas.
